Hackathon Project

Problem Statement
College students manage money independently for the first time, with inconsistent income from part-time jobs, internships, and financial aid. Traditional budgeting tools feel too rigid for that reality, and most apps reduce spending to a single opaque number.
Outcome
A budgeting app that breaks spending into understandable categories and visual patterns, built in ~24 hours at DubHacks 2025 — placing 2nd in the Atlassian track.
Objectives
Build a budgeting tool that reduces overwhelm instead of adding to it.
Help users see where their money is going at a glance
Reduce the cognitive load of managing irregular income
Visualize spending trends instead of a single balance number
Encourage reflection over rigid budgeting rules
KPI
Perceived financial stress · category-level spending clarity
